After installing from the current daily version of xubuntu, I run the
following:

sudo apt-get install  gnome-system-monitor

>From the whisker menu, it just fails to launch

>From the terminal

gnome-system-monitor fails to launch with the following:

ulinux@ulinux-t2:~$ gnome-system-monitor

(gnome-system-monitor:2021): dbind-WARNING **: 09:51:57.827: Couldn't
register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.

gtk_box_pack: assertion '_gtk_widget_get_parent (child) == NULL' failed

(gnome-system-monitor:2021): Handy-ERROR **: 09:51:58.059:
gtk_window_set_titlebar() is not supported for HdyWindow
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) ulinux@ulinux-t2:~$ 


HOWEVER:
ulinux@ulinux-t2:~$ sudo gnome-system-monitor
[sudo] password for ulinux: 
ulinux@ulinux-t2:~$ gnome-system-monitor

DOES LAUNCH
