Sorry Tormod, I can't supply either of these files, as I've made some major changes to my system since, which has stopped this particular problem occurring, so I haven't got copies of those when it was happening.
For the record, I had been using my own kernel, with the Nvidia driver installed manually and I've changed to using the stock Ubuntu kernel. I believe the problem (in my case at least) was due to conflicts between various files that were left behind by several updates of the Nvidia driver. It was necessary to uninstall the Ubuntu Nvidia driver, then to identify and manually remove all files and symbolic links installed by the manual Nvidia installer (identified by running it with "--list") then re-installing the Ubuntu Nvidia driver (from the command-line, to be sure of spotting any error messages pointing at symlinks I'd missed removing.) -- X session dies when xscreensaver runs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
