Public bug reported: Hello,
It looks like tpm2-tools in Bionic doesn't properly work. >From version in Bionic: $ tpm2_startup --version tpm2_startup, version >From version in Focal: $ tpm2_startup --version tool="tpm2_startup" version="4.1.1" tctis="libtss2-tctildr" tcti-default=tcti-device We also have other problems, as reported in LP: #1801024. $ tpm2_startup -c Failed to initialize tcti context: 0x1 Other packages that need tpm2-tools (like keylime, et al) will not work properly because of this. Do you think it makes sense to backport tpm2-tools from Focal? Since the version in Bionic is also old and I guess the newer version has some good benefits over the one in Focal. ** Affects: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Also affects: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: tpm2-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1928247 Title: tpm2-tools in Bionic seems broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tpm2-tools/+bug/1928247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
