Public bug reported: debootstrap connects to the Internet but provides no proxy option, and the man page makes no mention of whether the http_proxy environment variable is honored. Ideally, Tor users would benefit most from SOCKS4a support. I suggest modeling after cURL ("--socks4a 127.0.0.1:9050").
