Hi, Thanks for outlining the steps that you follow. "ubuntu iso will not trigger this" is interesting, so the guest must do something unexpected. I was fetching the very same iso CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-2009.iso and tried this with Focal (as you did) and the virt stack of the most recent Hirsute release.
The defaults of this would create a quiet different guest. - You had i440fx and the default in virt-manager is q35 for quite a while. - Also the bus for the cdrom would be SATA by default, I selected IDE as you had in your example. -> That somehow ties into the odd machine type I asked above which should not work at all in 20.04; your setup must be interesting/complex I guess :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930398 Title: libvirtd unable to execute QEMU command 'blockdev-remove-medium' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1930398/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
