Hi, since the majority of machines seems to work with the current Ubuntu ISOs, it would be helpful to have manufacturer, model name, and firmware versions of machines where the ISOs cause long delays or fail.
The problem does not sit in the recognition of boot entry points by the firmware but occurs later, when GRUB is already running. So probably some interaction of GRUB and firmware goes wrong, if the MBR partition 2 exists. If this ever shall get debugged, then we need to document which machines would be able to reproduce the problem. Have a nice day :) Thomas -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922342 Title: HIrsute live session takes ages to boot on BIOS systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1922342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
