@Alexey: In my case on my '12 cMP that "GRUB_TERMINAL=console" as already set that way, so that wasn't "the solution" to a problem that has been affecting likely "EFI" boot computers for a year or more??
In my case I use my OpenSUSE installs to re-install grub2 . . . and that restores grub function, but they have slightly different commands than on the ubuntu side of things. But, possibly if you scroll up to #86 comment, I did just check in Launchpad and see that indeed grub 2.06 is there as tar.gz file . . . and he suggested that as the way to "fix" the problem, which indeed appears to be "shim" related. Another way I tried was to do a fresh install of a distro, that will also re-install grub, but then, if still in grub 2.04 in another install . . . likely will wipe grub menu again, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863434 Title: 20.04 grub menu not visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1863434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
