  New impish (daily) looks good on login.  As part of testing the new
  system, I adjust displays to my configuration; which required changing
  right-display to portrait-left tilt.  On performing that function I get

  I expected the right-display to portrait-left tilt, and left-display to
  remain unchanged.
  
  ** Actual results
  
  Right display did portrait-left tilt & is perfectly usable (what I'm
  using now).  The left display however is now just a blocky mess that
  changes as I type, and slowly flashes (at the bottom of display).
