I booted Ubuntu impish daily (live) on the box the bug is reported under (a box I use for QA-test installs) - hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)
Adding the tor-browser package will result in a usable tor browser just as teward outlines.
