We have changed the default print management system in Ubuntu from gnome-cups-manager to system-config-printer because g-c-m is no longer maintained. When adding a new printer I now see three relevant options: KONICA, KonicaMinolta and Minolta, so I'm not sure that's better :)
Improved auto-detection might save the day though. Could those who have this printer please try configuring it on a clean Gutsy or Hardy system (Live CD should do) and let us know how badly/well this works in real life? Thanks! ** Changed in: system-config-printer (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gnome-cups-manager => system-config-printer Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - Gnome Cups Manager doesn't install Minolta printer + Print config doesn't install Minolta printer -- Print config doesn't install Minolta printer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/29966 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
