I just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a new machine and I’m a little frustrated that the installer made no mention of encrypting my home directory, which is what I was planning to do. I did a search and found out this is why. If ecryptfs is so broken and better alternatives exist, why does the installer not support any of them? Do I need to file a bug with the installer?
