I've attached the syslog. The suspend starts at 07:39 with a lid
closure. The resume starts at 08:36. This was presumably after I had to
hard power-cycle it because you can see the power-off. Various key-
presses and short presses on the power button just prior to 08:36
produced nothing in the log.


In fact, I had to hard reboot thee times to get the system back. It hung after 
picking the kernel version in grub twice. One with a black screen. The other 
with a Dell screen and with Ubuntu underneath and a rotating progress meter. I 
don't see that screen on a normal boot.
