I'm closing this bug.
The "Directory nonexistent" error itself should be fixed in Hardy (see bug 
107820).

Just because the "Directory nonexistent" handling is better does not mean that 
CPU frequency scaling is supported.
If you still get "CPU frequency scaling not supported" during boot or with 
"sudo invoke-rc.d powernowd restart", then please report a new bug and include 
the output of:
$ uname -a
$ sudo modprobe -r powernow-k8
$ sudo modprobe powernow-k8
$ dmesg | grep powernow

There will be different reasons why it fails and it's likely to be a
kernel issue then. So, please include the kernel info ("uname -a") and
try it with Ubuntu Hardy, if you can (e.g. booting from the LiveCD).
