laramarvin, I did that, but I have the same problem I did with my other new xorg.conf -- the font sizes are all enormous. This may be a result of various tweaks I made when I was trying to figure out what changed when I upgraded to gutsy (turns out it was that my monitor was running at sub-native resolution), but for some reason my old xorg.conf starts in a lower resolution and then if I use displayconfig-gtk to resize it to 1920x1200 it shrinks the fonts back down to a reasonable size. Does anyone know what it's doing and where I would go to do that manually? Of course the bug is that when using displayconfig-gtk to resize the screen those changes are lost when I restart X. The new xorg.conf file made by nvidia-settings does not start with low resolution, but it does keep the enormous fonts.
