I solved it by removing all my custom added fonts from ~/.fonts
Could it be a wrong file type? Or a malformed file? 
This are the extensions that were in the directory.
.pfb(and .PFB)
.otf
.ttf(and .TTF)
.AFM

If a file with the wrong type caused the crash, that should be solved,
the Desktop shouldn't be crashed by a single file.
