Just upgraded from Debian 10.11 to Ubuntu-MATE 20.04.3 and can confirm this problem.
To make matters worse, when you launch Grsync, start a sync operation it totally crashes Mate-Dock rendering it useless until you reboot the computer. Can also confirm, Grsync DID NOT crash the Mate-Dock in Debian 10.x.
