I compile the ati binary driver, after i try to install the ati driver
of ubuntu repositories, then the system give that error.

I try again installing, no problems or errors, reboot my laptop, but the screen 
keep black no image or ttys.

Jose, this may be because you are using some user's PPA or similar?

What's the output of "LANG=C apt-cache policy xorg-driver-fglrx" on a
terminal?

It should look like this (on Ubuntu Hardy):
$ LANG=C apt-cache policy xorg-driver-fglrx
xorg-driver-fglrx:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 1:7.1.0-7-11+2.6.24.2-2.8
  Version table:
     1:7.1.0-7-11+2.6.24.2-2.8 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/restricted Packages
