After more experience with different settings it seems that the behavior of vfs_cache_pressure was changed a lot between linux kernel version 5.3 and 5.4.
For cases where vfs_cache_pressure=1 did work nicely with version 5.3 you need something in range 30-90 for linux kernel version 5.4 to get the same behavior. I haven't been able to pinpoint which value would be the closest match to old value 1. Also, I haven't seen any information if this is intentional or not, but I guess this could be considered as working okay but requiring different configuration values. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1931871 Title: low 'vfs_cache_pressure' causes bad real world latency To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta-hwe-5.4/+bug/1931871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
