Public bug reported: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=20.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=focal DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS"
Expected: That it would be possible to access a proxied client's IP address Result: The feature is not supported in Ubuntu's build When used behind a load-balancer such as HAProxy, Exim must be able to access information about the original client in order to make various policy decisions (relaying, blacklists, etc). Exim already has this inbound proxy feature in the code base, but requires "SUPPORT_PROXY=yes” in the Makefile. Seeing as Ubuntu already compiles in support for Exim's outbound proxy support (SOCKS), it seems only natural to include the complementary feature. Making this available will lower the burden on sysadmins who are called upon to support a load-balanced configuration, admittedly a corner case for mail servers. ** Affects: exim4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1953216 Title: PROXY feature not compiled in To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/exim4/+bug/1953216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
