cloud-init is involved in converstations with subiquity devs this cycle for 22.04 and will try to iron out how this should work on both Server Live installer ISOs vs Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy) Desktop installer ISOs. But, at the moment it's going to be the manual process you have already captured, plus `sudo cloud-init clean --logs`.
