Correction. I said: "On 8.04 alpha, I have Totem sound but no application sound . . .", but I meant to say that I have Totem sound but no system sounds. That is, Totem plays the Ubuntu example .ogg video with sound, but the system sounds are not produced at all. I also want to emphasize that sound works fine on my same test computer in 7.10.
