Hi! I tested with alpha 2 live cd and the sound is still there. I executed the commands you asked me to execute and am now including the results as attachments. NOTE the commands were executed while the computer was running on hardy alpha 2 live cd.
As for the sound itself, I have a very low quality recording of it. If you are interested I can upload it. It is reaaly just a high pitch beep. It is constant. I can not say exactly when it starts but it is always there when i listen so I guess that in the early stage of booting. ** Attachment added: "version.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11057642/version.log -- Noisy hard disk Gutsy (configuring grub is not enough) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155142 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
