I did a fresh install when Kubuntu Gutsy came out. Something similar happened once since then. Only this time, the display simply froze. It didn't cut out or go to a black screen. It happened when I had Firefox open, with I think the MPlayer plug-in playing a podcast, and while I was playing SuperTux. I thought maybe it was OpenGL in that instance, so I turned it off afterward.
I don't know what it is. I suppose it could be a bug with the NVIDIA drivers, or OpenGL-mesa. What happened the last time was not identical to the previous occurances, so it could be completely unrelated, and possibly more along the lines of a conflict between the audio playing and OpenGL. I know that the MPlayer plug-in demands exclusive control of the sound adapter (Firefox freezes if a flash file with audio attempts to play while MPlayer is running, and no other program can use audio at the same time). So it might have been more of an interaction there. All in all, I suppose that the problem isn't an issue. Or at least I hope it isn't. -- Random X server crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130971 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
