A quick response to jvonau above (to avoid getting side-tracked): the best place to suggest that would be to file a ticket against one of those packages and tag it "raspi-image" (which should bring it to my attention); I can add the other packages as "also affected". However, from a brief look, none of those packages are in "main" and therefore can't be added to official images without going through the full MIR process (which would need a pretty strong justification -- which is not to say there isn't one, just to make you aware of the requirement).
