Public bug reported:

In Kubuntu 20.04 after recent update from plasma-workspace 5.18.5 to
5.18.8, I am unable to unlock my screen by just typing my user password,
as I was used to before. Now only a screen with a clock appears and no
password textbox, there is nothing that I can do to activate the
password textbox but to click somewhere with my mouse. The extra click
with the mouse that is now necessary is inconvenient to me and a UX
regression in my opinion, especially because I quite often lock my
screen when working in the office.
