It's still there in today's daily (20220305.1) and this time I decided to go a step further.
If you 'sudo snap remove firefox' the uppermost Firefox icon is removed from the menu (and the snap app Firefox is removed, obviously). The more traditional Firefox installation remains usable and in the menu. So, yeah...
