Thanks for finding the Fedora info. I had just wondered about other distros. Looks like the other bug they link to is a dupe of this? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1961558 Can I suggest this be documented in the release notes, at least the issue, but maybe even including the workaround?
