This is a low priority bug, and I believe it should be addressed in Debian first. For that reason, we're still waiting to see what Debian replies. On top of this, we have to consider that this bug is part of a much bigger discussion on how to properly implement network ordering when starting systemd services without resorting to "Wants=network- online.target", so I believe it will be some time before we see real progress here.
