Public bug reported: First of all apologies, if I misplaced this bug report, but I did not know where else to put it...
I am experiencing some issues with the ALC4080 sound card on Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS. I do not get any sound from the front jack (headphones). This is actually an issues that may be found on google as well. From the back jack, I do get sound output, but it is somewhat distorted. It is hard to put it into words, but I would describe it as just very slighted slowed down and distorted towards bass-heavy. If I play sound via the graphics card (hdmi port to nvidia graphics card), the sound is absolutely normal. I may also plug in the headphones to the screen, which receives the hdmi output and the sound is perfectly fine. I guess the issue is somehow connected to the ALC4080 being some weird USB-audio interface, but I do not understand much about these matters. I am not sure, which packages shall be made responsible for this problem... `apt-cache policy pulseaudio` returns ``` Installed: 1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3.13 Candidate: 1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3.13 ``` `cat /proc/asound/version` returns `Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k5.13.0-39-generic.` ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: alsa realtek sound -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969627 Title: Sound issues with ALC4080 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1969627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
