Public bug reported: On a machine with multiple (3) monitors, I'm able to setup the order & positioning of the displays, and indicate the primary display.
However, some of the time, if I toggle mode with Super-P key combo, returning to the same mode, the display order is lost, the primary display setting is lost. Open windows end up on the wrong screen. The same behaviour is observed, some of the time, when using a KVM switch, switching the displays to a different machine. On switching the KVM back to the machine, the display order, positioning and primary display settings are lost and have to be reset. Sometimes, the display order, positioning and primary display setting survive a KVM switch or a super-P mode toggle. Gnome-shell/mutter/ubuntu should maintain the display positioning, order, and primary display setting. In mode setting or KVM switching, there are noticeable delays as the monitors re-awaken themselves and communicate their EDID's, geometry, and connection topology (daisy-chained DP monitors). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971487 Title: Screen position and settings lost during KVM switching or Super-P To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1971487/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
