Same problem here.. Debian Sid / Amarok 1.4.7 Except I am NOT using the crossfading option. Instead I have a complicated sqlite query in a smart playlist which in turn polulates a dynamic playlist. It's quite a lot of CPU thrashing to repopulate the list. Perhaps it is the excessive CPU usage when switching tracks that is causing it to skip, rather than the crossfade or smart playlist specifically?
