Great!
I'm able to use Xorg at 1280x1024x16 without any trouble! :-)

I just had to tune a few things manually, like:
- HorizSync & VertRefresh to allow full screen size
- DefaultDepth to get 16 bits depth
- Modes in SubSection "Display" to get the size I wanted

But we should be able to get most of this automagically.
See what "ddcprobe" gives:
