I could narrow down the problem to linux-lowlatency 6.8.0-25.25.3. Before updating to Ubuntu 24.04 I had the lowlatency kernel installed. When updating it reverted back to generic and the last update installed linux-lowlatency 6.8.0-25.25.3, which seems to have generated the bug.
Uninstalling the lowlatency kernel and running on the generic solves the issue.
