May the fourth(be with you) 2024 STILL EXISTS!!!!
sudo chmod +x /usr/share/screen-resolution-extra/nvidia-polkit fixes it, but c'mon. it's one line of code....(maybe more for you, but it's only one in the terminal) I really can't believe this hasn't been solved by now. Maybe it doesn't seem important enough? too hard? nvidia won't cooperate? dev's being pig headed? I don't think the user base cares about any of that. They just want a system that works as it should. And this issue has been ongoing for YEARS without a fix. I know, I'm not a dev. I have more than enough knowledge and I can read code, so maybe I'm missing something, but 5 years for one line of code is RIDICULOUS!!!! Sorry for the tone, but c'mon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1822937 Title: NVIDIA settings won't write to /etc/xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/1822937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
