I can reproduce it in the following way:
* Install freeciv-client-gtk3, version 3.1.0+ds-1build5.
* Start a gnome terminal, and maximize the terminal window.
* Start freeciv.
* Click on Start New Game. A window should pop up where number of players and 
AI skill level can set.
* Maximize the window.
* Click on somewhere on the right side of the window.
Actual result:
* The terminal window pops up.

For some reason the cursor is not visible on the video, even though I
turned on the show pointer option. I clicked on the top right side of
the freeciv window, where the players are.
