Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22
Every now and then my system (gutsy, 2.6.22-14-server, SMP (2 procs), x86_64) reports a bug and freezes. It has a RAID array 4-disk setup with mdadm. The md array is exported through NFSv3. Clues? - In this case the bug is preceeded by ata HSM violation errors (about 15 minutes before the freeze), but I get these messages also without a freeze following. - After the error, the system still works a little, since fetchmail and CRON messages appear in the log (maybe because of the 2 procs?) - times between the crashes are quite long (days) - crashes seem to happen when I'm working (i.e. I'm working on my workstation, home and data dirs mounted over NFSv3). - no reaction to keyboard or remote login, only solution is hard reboot Unfortunately I have only logs for this specific case, not for the previous ones. I remember them to be pretty much the same as this ones, but I can't say for sure. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-oops ** Tags added: kernel-oops ** Description changed: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22 - Every now and then my system (2.6.22-14-server, SMP (2 procs), x86_64) - reports a bug and freezes.
