Yes, version 8.0.15 (current version in Ubuntu 24.04) is too old. The python3-mysql.connector package needs an upgrade to version 8.4, which supports Python 3.12 (-> https://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector- python/en/connector-python-versions.html).
