** Description changed: When Sticky Keys is enabled for a user in GNOME Settings > Accessibility > Typing in Ubuntu 23.10, after typing the user's password to log in, a black screen appears momentarily and then the login screen returns, with journalctl showing: snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Failed to do gtk init. Waiting for a new session with desktop capabilities. snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Checking session /org/freedesktop/login1/session/_324... snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Is a desktop session! Forcing a reload. snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Checking session /org/freedesktop/login1/session/c8... snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Checking session /org/freedesktop/login1/session/_318... snapd-desktop-i[20093]: Loop exited. Forcing reload. systemd[13871]: org.gnome.Shell@wayland.service: Main process exited, code=dumped, status=11/SEGV systemd[13871]: org.gnome.Shell@wayland.service: Failed with result 'core-dump'. systemd[13871]: Failed to start org.gnome.Shell@wayland.service - GNOME Shell on Wayland. This happens on a different, newer user account too, as well as while moving all hidden files in $HOME to a backup folder and only enabling Sticky Keys via gsettings before logging in. Performing "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.a11y.keyboard stickykeys- enable false" in a different tty first allows logging in. + -- ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 23.10 Package: gnome (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.5.0-41.41-generic 6.5.13 Uname: Linux 6.5.0-41-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.27.0-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Wed Jun 12 13:35:30 2024 InstallationDate: Installed on 2023-03-23 (447 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.10 "Kinetic Kudu" - Release amd64 (20221020) ProcEnviron: - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - PATH=(custom, no user) - SHELL=/bin/bash - XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + PATH=(custom, no user) + SHELL=/bin/bash + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> SourcePackage: meta-gnome3 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to mantic on 2024-05-30 (13 days ago)
