Public bug reported: I'm on Ubuntu 23.04. I've noticed when I download deb packages for upgrade, going into the snap store doesn't allow me to upgrade them and I must install them on the command line.
To repro: - download some version of a package (ex. discord-0.0.43.deb) - double-click on file to go into "Ubuntu Software" app - click install - download later version of a package (ex. discord-0.0.44.deb) - double-click on file to go into "Ubuntu Software" app - note the new version is displayed, but says it's installed (ex. "Installed Size") and no install option is available Expected behavior: - Software app can install newer versions of the software Current behavior: - Software app can't install newer versions of the software Workaround: - Install the app from the command line (ex. dpkg -i discord-0.0.44.deb) ** Affects: snapd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "install_deb.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069537/+attachment/5790068/+files/install_deb.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069537 Title: snap store doesn't allow upgrade of deb packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/2069537/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
