Marking the dialog window as transient[1] and or modal[2], as GTK
directs, causes this annoyance.

Unfortunately all the dialogs in the program are sub-classed from this
transient-and-modal window class, so thought must be given for whether
we want to remove those properties entirely or just allow the main
window to continue to exist after the dialog is closed.
