Its a Snap problem, and I am not actively looking at it. On my newest XUbuntu-24.04, I am using the Mozilla ESR version without Snap: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux#w_system-firefox-installation-for-advanced-users which leads to: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release and use the FireFox Extended Support Release and install into user home. Today when started it downloaded FF 128.0 I really only use it for testing OpenSC using VirtualBox running on Windows 11 pro as host. Ubuntu 24.04 now installs be default Snap version of Thunderbird which now has the same problem as the Snap firefox! I use TB on Windows. If I run into any other Snap applications with the same problem I might switch to some other distro. Snap has a lot extra load on the system too. > -- Douglas E.
