The --help command isn't very clear about this, but the feature does work when you put the "--working-directory" option BEFORE AN EXPLICIT " --window" option.
However, the tilde "~" symbol may or may not work, depending on the environment where the terminal is launched from. For example, I wanted to open a terminal at my home's desktop folder using a keyboard shortcut. I found that my window manager's keyboard shortcuts settings does not parse the tilde correctly, so my workaround was this: gnome-terminal --working-directory=/home/USERNAME/desktop --window Replacing USERNAME with the username of my own. I hope this clears the confusion for all gnome-terminal users hereon. It does work, it just has some quirks to it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587154 Title: --working-directory does not work anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1587154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
