I request that libsysprof-capture-4-dev be promoted to main now. This package has no dependencies. Allowing it into main would allow us to build glib with sysprof tracing support. We were unable to do this before because demoting libglib2.0-dev to universe is very disruptive, requiring many other -dev packages to also be demoted.
It would allow dropping the large set of -dev packages in Extra-Excludes that were there only because this one package was not in main. See https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu- seeds/+git/ubuntu/commit/?id=4c41750b I think it is good to do this now before Feature Freeze. Promoting the other packages (the sysprof app, the sysprof libraries, and the other -dev package) are blocked because they need the libdex (LP: #2066262) and libpanel (LP: #2066272) MIRs to be approved first. It is still a high priority for the Desktop team to include the sysprof app in Ubuntu Desktop 24.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2066269 Title: [MIR] sysprof To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sysprof/+bug/2066269/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
