A normal update/upgrade of Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop brought in the 6.8.0-40 kernel, but compiled with gcc-12 (see /proc/version) instead of gcc-13 like the kernel in 24.04 uses. The running Nvidia 545 module did not rebuild successfully (same error as mentioned above for 525) (nor did a direct install of 545-open). ubuntu-drivers list does not list any driver higher than 545, but the 550 package is available (no graphics- drivers PPA is used). A direct install of the 550 package does succeed. (HW RTX3080M). See 2077063, one's probably a dup
