BTW I want to mention the possibility that this bug opens a small security hole, namely:
When the mouse (cursor) is in an xterm window, and I'm typing (i.e., I think I am typing) stuff into that window, but ... the focus has actually landed -- incorrectly -- in some other window, who knows where. Let's say the focus is in some web-based form I was filling out a while ago, until I got distracted ... Now I'm typing into (or so I think, because I see the cursor there) an xterm window on my desktop, and it happens that what I'm typing is sensitive information. I didn't mean to share this info to the outside world through the web form, but it seems there's a chance (due to this bug) that could happen inadvertently. (A very outside chance, but still...it's a route that didn't used to be possible, and shouldn't be possible (when "focus follows mouse" is set), but now it could be.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2083156 Title: focus should follow mouse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2083156/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
