Hi, as I wrote a short time ago in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kodi/+bug/2079914/comments/17 I tried that Kodi build yesterday and also saw that the Kodi processes were still running for a longer time than I would expect after exiting Kodi. So I'm now back on that slow PC and tried again with the result that it now closes much faster than yesterday. 20 seconds after exiting Kodi it's menu disappeared to that I was back on the desktop. ~15 seconds later kodi.bin closed, another kodi process was launched, making it three running, and a further 15 seconds later those Kodi processes were closed. So overall ~50 seconds to complete the whole task. Yesterday I unfortunately didn't measure the time it took until the Kodi processes closed but it certainly took 1 minute 30 seconds or even more. Since mcaspi12 suspects kodi-inputstream-ffmpegdirect to cause the issue I checked and found that I also have that one installed and activated in Kodi. The package version on my system is 20.5.0+ds1-3build1. I'm still interested on which type of hardware you're running Kodi, @mcaspi12. And also if you ever waited for the kodi processes to close and even better measured the time it took. Otherwise it's IMO impossible to decide whether this is a bug or just a performance issue on whichever hardware or software part involved.
