There is (maybe, seems not yet approved) an effort to reduce duplication
for Ubuntu 8.04: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/hardy-
reducing-duplication

Now somebody tell me, what use is KMFL without SCIM integration anyway?
Why would I want to compile a keyboard, but then not be able to use it?
Why is this bug only marked as "wishlist"? If you know some other
system than KMFL + SCIM that is available in Ubuntu and that lets me
enter (at least) the above-mentioned languages, please tell me. But
then, that would be duplication again.

I'm going to test the SIL packages for Ubuntu Hardy/8.04 now and will
report back what glitches there are still.

If there is something (else) I can do to improve the situation, I'm
interested (and I think technical enough) to lend a hand. Right now I'm
only a complaining user that sees a package missing from the repository.
Thanks for all the other packages that are there though! :-)
