Thanks for the bug report. As far as I can tell, the system is trying to use Xorg by default because Nvidia is the primary GPU(?), but the Nvidia Xorg driver is not properly installed (according to the Xorg log it's not present).
Please try using the 'Additional Drivers' app to reinstall an Nvidia driver. Also if you remove the 'nomodeset' kernel parameter then you would also have the option of selecting 'Ubuntu on Wayland' at the login screen. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2086241 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2086241/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
