I'm also plagued by this problem. One hint that I found while googling was that 
one should specify that the graphics adapter is a PCI Express one (in case your 
graphics adapter is in fact a PCI-E one, of course) in the BIOS. Otherwise, the 
BIOS will check for a regular PCI graphics adapter first before it finally 
figures out that it is in fact in the PCI-E port. Well, I did that about 2-3 
weeks ago, and the problem hasn't appeared again yet. I'm not yet convinced 
that this solves the problem, but it might be worthwhile if people with PCI 
Express (or maybe even AGP or other non-PCI graphics adapters) could check if 
the BIOS is set to assume the graphics adapter in the right place, eventually 
correct and report back if it did help.
