I'm sorry, for starters, it was a 7.04 install that was updated to 7.10, but that system had other problems that I found after posting this (keyboard and mouse kept locking up). I reinstalled from a 7.10 disk and now fspot seems to be working right (a simple "No photos matching favorites found" error)
